For a character who got minimal screen time and died like a CHUMP, Boba Fett remains one of the most popular characters in the entire “Star Wars” Universe. Even in toy form.
An old, 4-inch tall Boba Fett action figure, with a rocket that actually fires, is up for bids online, and it could go for more than $250,000.
One of the things that makes it so expensive is that rocket-firing mechanism. There are only 30 Boba Fetts that have it in existence, because it’s a PROTOTYPE.
Before it actually went out to consumers, the company decided it was a choking hazard . . . so they scrapped that idea and released the figure with a rocket that DIDN’T fire.
But employees were allowed to keep the prototypes, which is why there are still some around.
One of these sold for $86,000 in 2017, and another one sold for $113,000 last year. The bidding on this one ends in two weeks, and the price is already over $126,000.
